The Goldwater Scholarship 2027 is one of the most prestigious undergraduate awards in the United States for students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Administered by the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation, the program identifies and supports outstanding students who demonstrate strong potential for research careers in STEM fields.
Goldwater Scholars get a financial award that includes the costs of tuition, mandatory fees, books, accommodation, and a living stipend worth up to $7,500 per year.
Requirements
To be considered for the 2027 Barry Goldwater USA Scholarship and Excellence in Education, you must:
- Be a currently or previously matriculated sophomore or junior pursuing a degree at an accredited 2- or 4-year institution of higher education, and be a full-time matriculated student during the academic terms when receiving scholarship support from the Foundation.
- Intend to pursue a research career in a natural science, mathematics, or engineering,
- Have a college grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and
- Be a U.S. citizen or national from the 50 States, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, United States Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, and any other territory or possession of the United States; or a permanent resident.Â
Method of Application
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education offers;
- Up to $7,500 per academic year
- Full Scholarship that covers:
- Tuition
- Mandatory fees
- Books
- Room and board
Duration:
- Sophomores: Up to 2 years of funding
- Juniors: Up to 1 year of funding
