The Japanese Government is granting the Osaka University MEXT Scholarship for international students seeking to pursue Master’s or PhD degrees at the Osaka University in Japan.

The Osaka University Engineering Scholarship is supported by the MEXT program of the Japanese Government to cover tuition, monthly stipend, and support for international research and collaboration with Japanese academia, industries, and government.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Osaka University Engineering Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

Undergraduate Applicants:

  • Must belong to a country with diplomatic relations with Japan
  • Must pass the entrance exam for eligible Osaka University programs.
  • Embassy Recommendation students must first complete a one-year Japanese language course.

Graduate Applicants:

  • Must hold a relevant bachelor’s/master’s degree before arriving
  • Must pass screening by Japanese embassies or consulates in their home country
  • Must request a Letter of Acceptance from Osaka University after the embassy’s first screening
  • Japanese language training available if required before admission.
