The University of Malta Master’s Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity offered by the institution for home and foreign students to study in the country.
The fully funded University of Malta Scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides a living stipend worth €6000 for one full year.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the University of Malta Scholarship, you must:
- satisfy the Master of Science in Geosciences requirements as per UM regulations.
- be in possession of a BSc in one of the following areas:
- Geosciences, Physics, Earth Systems, Maths, Statistics are preferred.
- Degrees in other science subjects, earth-related studies, or IT will be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates providing evidence of proficiency in programming.
- Students who are currently in their final year of the undergraduate programme will also be considered, subject to successful completion of their programme of studies in line with the requirements outlined here.
Benefits
- The scholarship has a duration of one year.
- The selected candidate will be required to start their studies on a full-time basis in September 2025 and will be receiving a stipend of €500 per month for one year.
- The tuition fee for the first year of studies for local candidates (up to €400) will be covered from the project.Â

- A copy of their curriculum vitae,
- Copies of their certificates and
- Contact details (including email address) of 2 referees.

- Applications should be received by not later than Friday 4 July 2025. International candidates are required to present certified translations of their qualifications into English.
- The scholarship awardee will be required to complete a Master’s by Research application, which is considered separately.
