Orange knowledge programme is inviting applications for the master’s scholarship at the University of Twente in the Netherlands for the 2020/2021 academic session.
Nuffic’s Orange Knowledge Programme is a global development programme, funded by the Dutch government. The OKP programme was preceded by the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP). The OKP programme has a duration of 5 years and involves around 50 countries.
The Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) scholarship offered by the Dutch government and administered by Nuffic. OKP aims to contribute to a society’s sustainable and inclusive development. Scholarships are open to mid-career professionals in specific countries. The programme is the successor of the NICHE and NFP programmes.
Worth of Award
- The scholarship value depends on the duration of your programme at the University of Twente as well as on the in-house or external components.
- Please note that the scholarship does not cover all the costs of the study trajectory.
- It is not a full fellowship.

Eligibility
- To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates should be able to submit proof of admission to the academic program for which they are applying. In any case, an applicant will always need to have a provisional admission, therefore applicants are advised to apply as soon as possible for admission.
- The OKP eligible countries are: Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Colombia, Congo – Kinshasa, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea, Indonesia, Jordan Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Macedonia, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
- You must hold the nationality of and are a resident working in one of the participating countries.
- You are a professional who, in light of your: role, multiple years of relevant work experience and networks within a theme relevant to local development, is in a position or through your employer could be put in a position, to apply what you have learned in practice.
-  You work for one of the following types of national or local organizations: ministries, secondary or higher vocational or academic education institutions, universities, private sector, commissions or NGOs.
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted first to the University of Twente. After assessment and approval, the University of Twente will inform you in February 2020 on how to apply for the OKP scholarship.
- You will be invited by the University of Twente to apply for the OKP fellowship. You will receive a link to a web-form (DELTA) for the formal OKP application process.
