The Cork University Business School is inviting applications for the New Food Security MSc Scholarships in Ireland for the 2020/2021 academic session.
‘Food insecurity and malnutrition present enormous challenges worldwide, with one in three of the world’s population experiencing malnutrition,’ says Dr. Nick Chisholm, director of the new programme.
There is an urgent need to expand the capacity to tackle these problems through well-designed policies and programme interventions. These scholarships will enable three highly-motivated students from developing countries to gain the skills and knowledge to make a real impact on these issues in their professional lives. They are delighted to be able to make this opportunity available to students who otherwise would not be in a financial position to pursue the programme.
Worth of Award
The scholarships include;
- tuition fees,
- return airfare to Ireland,
- and a stipend of €1,000 per month for a year.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarships;
- Students must first be offered a place on the MSc in Food Security Policy and Management by applying via the PAC portal.
- Entry requirements for the programme can be found on the programme page.
- CUBS will offer full scholarships to two students from developing countries on the MSc Food Security Policy and Management, which will receive its first intake of students in September 2020.

Applicants for the scholarships should apply by email to Ms. Niamh Kiely (n.kiely@ucc.ie), using the subject heading ‘MSc Food Security Scholarships’, with the following:
- Evidence that they have applied online to the MSc Food Security Policy and Management;
- A motivational statement (max. 300 words) outlining their suitability to be considered for a scholarship;
- Contact details of two referees.
