Since 2013, the Woolf Institute and the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust have collaborated in a scheme of scholarships to support outstanding postgraduate students at the University of Cambridge.
Woolf Institute Cambridge PhD Scholarships are now available for international students for the 2018-2019 academic year. Scholarships cover the cost of studying for a PhD at the University of Cambridge and are tenable at any of the 31 Cambridge Colleges.
Course Level: Scholarships are available to outstanding postgraduate students to pursue PhD programme.
Available Subject: The Woolf Institute and the Cambridge Trust co-fund PhD students who are selected from amongst applicants in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Their research must be relevant to the focus of the Woolf Institute – the multi-disciplinary study of relations between Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
ScholarshipAward:The scholarship covers the University Composition fee and an annual stipend (sufficient for a single person).
Eligibility Criteria:
The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
- The scholarships are only open to prospective PhD students applying to the University of Cambridge for the 2018-2019 academic year – beginning the end of September/early October 2018.
- Applicants of any nationality are eligible for the Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholarship.
- Scholars will select from amongst applicants in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
- These scholarships are very competitive. We are unable to comment definitively on the suitability of potential applicants and their qualifications. It is wise to contact the relevant Faculty/Department to ascertain their entry requirements.
Eligible Nationalities: Applicants of any nationality are eligible for the Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholarship.
Method of Application: Applicants are required to apply to the University of Cambridge by the published deadline. The mode of applying is online.
Scholarship Application Deadline: Please check and apply by the specific course deadline – there are two general course deadlines of December 6, 2017, and January 4, 2018. The same deadlines apply to all applicants, regardless of fee status (UK/EU or Overseas/International).
