The American University of Beirut is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for the 2026/27 AUB Mastercard Scholarship.
The American University of Beirut Mastercard Scholarship aims to prepare young people to be agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, a laptop, travel costs, and monthly stipends.
Requirements:
To be considered for the American University of Beirut Mastercard Scholarship, you must:
- Applicants must be citizens of or refugees living on the African continent.
- Good academic standing in the previous degree
- Talent that exceeds financial resources
- Commitment to giving back to the community, country, and region
- Have strong leadership skills
- Commitment to attend all the additional learning experiences and workshops required by the Scholars Program
- Be 35 years or younger
- Demonstration of Readiness for University Studies in English (RUSE).
​Tests that you can submit: TOEFL IBT, IELTS (Academic), GRE (Verbal), GMAT (Verbal), or DUOLINGO English Test (DET).​
Duration and Reward
- Full Scholarship covering tuition, accommodation, living expenses, laptop, books, travel, visa, and medical insurance.
- Scholars attend a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their degrees.
Method of Application
- ​Step ​1: Complete an AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by the deadline.
- Step ​2: Select Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under the Financial Opportunities section of the online graduate application.Â
- Step 3: Complete the AUB Financial Aid Application, which will be accessible, within 1-3 working days, after you ​submit your Graduate Admission Application.
- You will receive, within 1-3 days, an automated email from the financ​ial aid office informing you of your access rights once the financial aid application has been activated.​
IMPORTANT NOTE: For an application to be considered complete, applicants must have completed (1) the AUB online graduate application, (2) the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program survey, and (3) submit RUSE scores.
