The University of Brescia Scholarships are awarded to students holding an undergraduate degree obtained in a non-EU country wishing to enrol in a Master’s Degree course. 

The University of Brescia STAR Scholarship offers about €6,650 per year, including tuition, accommodation, and meal services, while the  University of Brescia LMINT Scholarship is an annual amount of € 4,800.

Requirements for Undergraduates;

  • Be resident and domiciled in a developing country.
  • Be ready to enroll in an undergraduate degree program taught in Italian.
  • Hold a secondary‑school diploma that has been obtained in an African
    country.
  • Be born in 2000 or later;
  • Be applying for the First‑time to an Italian university;
  • Be in possession of a valid secondary‑school diploma that:
    a. is obtained after at least 12 years of schooling;
    b. grants access to undergraduate programs in the issuing country;
    c. is comparable to EQF level 4;
    d. is issued within a non‑EU educational system;
    e. is issued by an institution officially authorized to provide schooling and award diplomas;
    f. For transnational institutions, authorization must be granted both by the host country and by the
    country of the reference educational system;
  • Proof of Italian language proficiency at minimum A1 CEFR (course certificate required; language skills will also be assessed during an online interview);
  • Must not already hold an undergraduate degree from a foreign system.

Requirements for Postgraduates

  • Hold a nationality and residence in a developing country or from the following countries defined as priority by the Italian Agency for Cooperation: Cuba, Egypt, El Salvador, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Tunisia and Palestinian territories
  • Register for the first time with an Italian University;
  • Be in possession of a valid university undergraduate degree:
    • of at least three years duration
    • allowing admission to a postgraduate course in the country where it was obtained;
    • comparable to the first cycle QF EHEA2/ 6th level EQF3
    • issued outside the European Union
    • issued by an institution recognized by the local education system and authorized to issue higher education degrees
    • suitable for admission to the master’s degree programme chosen:
  • For the master’s degrees taught in English holding a certificate of English level B2 CEFR or having undertaken the study pathway in English.
  • Have achieved the undergraduate degree with a minimum final mark of 80/100 or a minimum GPA of 3.2/4.

Required Documents

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

  • Application Form
  • A valid identity document, preferably a passport;
  • Original certification attesting the qualification obtained. The certification must show:
    • the name and level of the qualification, the final grade achieved, the minimum and maximum score that can be acquired, the year it was obtained, the name and address of the institution that issued the qualification, list of exams taken with scores and credits.
    • Those who have not achieved the degree can attach original university enrolment certificate with list of exams.
  • If the documents were not issued by the institution in English or Italian, it is mandatory to attach the translation in Italian or English of the qualification documents carried out by an official translator.
  • Candidates interested in enrolling in a Master’s Degrees in Italian must attach a certificate of knowledge of the Italian language not lower than the CEFR B2 level.
  • applicants interested in registering for master’s degree Programmes in English who have NOT
    undertaken their study pathway in English must attach a certificate of proficiency in English (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL), of at least CEFR B2 level and acknowledge by the university (list is available at CLA Language Certificates
  • Curriculum vitae (in Italian or English, max. 2 pages);
  • Reference letter or name and e-mail of a professor from the school or university of origin (optional but recommended).
