The University Of Ottawa is pleased to announce the International English Scholarships offered to newly admitted students studying in undergraduate programs offered in English.

The University of Ottawa Undergraduate Scholarships are worth up to $60,000, offered to international students who are studying in English, and are enrolled in one of the specified undergraduate programs.

Requirements:

All eligible students are considered for the University of Ottawa Entrance and Excellence Scholarship award and will be notified at the time of their admission.

The applicant must:

  • Be an international student with a valid study permit.
  • Be newly admitted for the Spring-Summer 2026 term or later in an approved English-language undergraduate program in one of the following faculties: Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences, or the Telfer School of Management.
  • Have a minimum admission average of 80%.
  • Not enrol in the French immersion stream.
  • Be enrolled full-time. 

Duration and Reward

The scholarships offered for international undergraduate students include;

International English Admission Scholarship

  • Description: Renewable award for international students studying in English.
  • Value: $7,500 per term (up to $60,000 total over 4 years).

International English Academic Excellence Scholarship

  • Description: Additional merit award for top international students.
  • Value: $10,000 ($5,000 per term)

Faculty of Arts Dean’s Merit Scholarship

  • The Faculty of Arts awards 10 of these renewable scholarships, each valued at a total of $4,000.

Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Merit Scholarship

  • The Faculty of Engineering awards 35 of these scholarships to students with an admission average between 95 and 100% ($5,000) or between 90 and 94.9% ($4,000). 

Faculty of Engineering Memorial Scholarship

  • The Faculty of Engineering awards a $2000 scholarship to seven female students—one from each of the engineering programs (excluding computer science).

Faculty of Social Sciences Dean’s Excellence Award for International Students

  • The Faculty of Social Sciences awards a $1,500 scholarship to one or more international students enrolled full-time.

Education Bursary for International Students with Disabilities

  • Students with a permanent disability or a permanent medical condition that prevents them from taking more than 12 units per term may be eligible for a tuition bursary.
