The Government of China is inviting international students to apply for the Shanghai Government Scholarship.
The 2026 Shanghai Government Scholarship as offered by the Chinese universities for prospective undergraduate, and postgraduate applicants, will cover the full tuition of applicants, accommodation, and a living allowance of ¥4000 per month.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Shanghai Government Scholarship, you must:
- be non-Chinese citizens
- be in good health.
- have performed both academically and behaviorally.
- meet the admission requirements of the major applied for
- meet the Chinese language proficiency requirements of the major applied.
- Applicants for pre-college program must have high school diploma and be under 23.
- Applicants for undergraduate program must have high school diploma and be under 25.
Benefits
Type A (Full scholarship)
- Exempt from tuition fee.
- Provide accommodation on campus: economic double room (public restroom).
- If you choose to live off-campus and get approval from the university, off-campus living allowance is 700 RMB/month/person.
- Living allowance: 2500 RMB/month.
- Provide comprehensive medical care insurance for International Students: 800 RMB/person/year.
Type B (Partial scholarship)
- Exempt from tuition fee.
- Provide comprehensive medical care insurance for International Students: 800 RMB/person/year.

- Photocopy of Passport Photo Page
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy)
