In alignment with the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno , Ph.D., Governor of Akwa Ibom State, the Ekem Emmanuel John (EEJ) Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Pastor Umo Eno Academic Excellence Educational Support Grant (AEESGi).
This initiative is designed to recognize and support students from Oruk Anam Local Government Area (LGA) who are pursuing higher education in recognized tertiary institutions.
Benefits
GRANT CATEGORIES
1. Undergraduate Category
A total of 69 beneficiaries (minimum 200 level) will be supported as follows:
Oruk Anam Ward 11 Scholarship: 20 students (2 per village) at ?75,000 each.
Oruk Anam General Scholarship Award (All Wards): 39 students (3 per ward) at ?75,000 each.
Special Student Leadership Scholarship: 10 student leaders in good academic standing, drawn from NANS, SUGs, NAAKISS, NAKAMIKS, NUOAS, and departmental associations at ?75,000 each.
2. Postgraduate Category
Master’s Students: 13 beneficiaries (one per ward) at ?100,000 each.
3. Special Grants
Medicine & Surgery: 13 students (one per ward, minimum 200 level) at ?100,000 each.
Nursing Sciences, Pharmacy, Law, Medical Laboratory Science & Allied Health Professions: 13 students (minimum 200 level, one per ward) at ?75,000 each.
4. Concessional Grants
Elder Statesmen/Stakeholder Nominations: 25 students at ?50,000 each.
Concessional Beneficiaries (students nominated by Elder Statesmen/Stakeholders) will be contacted directly.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be an indigene of Oruk Anam LGA.
- Be enrolled in a recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria.
- Be in 200 level (Year 2) or above.
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5.0 or 2.75/4.0.
- Not be on academic or disciplinary probation.
- Demonstrate law-abiding and patriotic conduct.
Method of Application
All applicants except concessional nominees must follow these steps:
Step 1:
Submit an application letter via email indicating the chosen category and providing:
Full name, compound, village, ward
Contact details (address, phone number, email)
Institution, course of study, year of admission, expected graduation year
Step 2:
Attach the following documents:
1. Admission letter
2. Valid student ID card
3. Latest CGPA/result slip (stamped)
4. Proof of origin from Oruk Anam (LGA certificate of origin or attestation from village head)
5. O’ Level/SSCE/WASSCE certificate
6. Evidence of tuition fee payment (receipt for current session)
7. Letter of attestation from HOD or Dean confirming good standing
