The University of Alberta Graduate Scholarship is a fully funded Master’s and PhD opportunities for international students to study in one of Canada’s best institutions.

The University of Alberta Scholarship will provide funding that will cover the tuition fees and living stipends for the selected applicants. This funding is renewable year after year until the completion of the program.

Requirements:

To be considered for the University of Alberta Scholarship, you must;

  • have a Bachelor’s in biology or a related discipline (MSc applicants) or a Master’s of Science (for PhD applicants) in plant molecular biology or a related field.
  • be willing to register in the University of Alberta’s MSc or PhD Program
  • Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong foundation in plant molecular biology, and PhD candidates should also have hands-on experience in plant tissue culture and transformation.
  • Knowledge of computational methods for analyzing gene and protein sequences is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, as is a proven capacity for effective collaboration.
  • All applicants must satisfy the admission requirements established by the University of Alberta’s Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science.
  • Have minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Show proven ability to work independently
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English
  • The opportunity is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and foreign students
