The MIT-ETT Program is a prestigious, teaching-focused fellowship offered by the MIT Center for International Studies (CIS) and proudly sponsored by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), and Partners.

This semester-long fellowship is designed for engineering professors currently teaching at local universities in Nigeria who have recently completed their Ph.D. If you meet these criteria, we encourage you to apply!

Benefits

The program covers basic travel, living, and instructional material expenses. During their time at MIT, fellows will:

  • Attend classes similar to those they teach, gaining insights into innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Develop new curricular materials and teaching approaches for adoption in their home universities.
  • Participate in MIT-ETT seminars focusing on curriculum design and MIT cultural aspects.

Requirements

To qualify for the NNPC/TotalEnergies ETT Fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be passionate about developing new curricula and teaching methods, demonstrating a commitment to driving change.
  • Hold a Ph.D. and serve as a faculty member in a Nigerian university, specializing in disciplines such as Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering, or Geophysics.
  • Possess a Lecturer One rank within their respective institutions.
