The New York Times Fellowship Program offers a paid, full-time fellowship with benefits, and the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced journalists in The New York Times newsroom.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the New York Times Fellowship Program, you must:
- Applicants must have some journalism experience and be early in their careers.
- Applicants should ideally be recent college graduates or have limited paid, professional journalism experience (less than five years).
- Applicants must be authorised to work in the United States or the United Kingdom, depending on the office location.
- Applicants interested in positions in London must have authorisation to work in the United Kingdom.
- New work visas will not be sponsored; however, those with an existing or extendable visa (e.g., Optional Practical Training) may be considered.

Method of Application
- The application window for the 2025-26 Times Fellowship is now open. All of our fellows work full time, in either the newsroom or the Opinion section. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Eastern on Dec. 2.
- The fellowship program, which is for early career journalists, is slated to begin on June 2, 2025, and end on May 22, 2026. These are hybrid positions that require regular attendance in the office each week per departmental guidance.`
