The Master Mind Ku Leven Scholarships are awarded to highly passionate international students with strong academic records to study in Belgium.

The Master Mind Scholarship includes a €10,000 grant and a full tuition fee waiver for each academic year for every selected candidate.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Master Mind Scholarship, you must:

  • have a high standard of academic performance and potential. Excellent study results are reflected in a high Grade Point Average (GPA), as mentioned on the transcript of records.
  • The previous degree(s) should have been obtained at a higher education institution outside Flanders. International students who have completed a credit mobility at a host Flemish higher education institution are still eligible for a Master Mind Scholarship.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate a good knowledge and command of English, regardless of the minimum score required by the programme.
  • Students who are already enrolled at a Flemish higher education institution are not eligible. 
  • Students may not combine the Master Mind Scholarship with another scholarship from the Flemish Government or an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

Scholarship Details:

The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training awards scholarships for master’s programmes in Flanders and Brussels to outstanding students from around the world.

A Master Mind Scholarship includes a grant of €10. 000 + a tuition fee waiver per academic year (60 ECTS). Master Mind Scholarship holders only pay an administrative enrolment fee.

The grant is paid in instalments and covers accommodation costs, insurances and a significant amount of their living expenses.

Method of Application

  • Click on the button below to visit the Master Mind Scholarship page on Ku Leven website.
  • Step 1 : Submit a complete application file for an eligible Master’s programme before 15 January 2025, 23.59 CET, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form as an annexe. 
  • Register your Master Mind candidacy  via the online registration tool before 15 January 2025, 23.59 CET. 
  • After the 15 January application deadline, the KU Leuven Master’s programmes nominate eligible students who have expressed interest in the scholarship.
  • The central KU Leuven Selection Commission nominates up to 20 students for application at the Flemish level.
  • The 20 nominated students are informed about their preselection before 15 April 2025.
  • The 20 nominated students complete the Flemish governments online Master Mind application form. They compete with nominees from other Flemish universities.
  • The Selection Commission of the Flemish government makes the final selection. The results are announced at the end of May or in early June.
