The McKinsey Company Internship program is a 1-year full-time consulting program designed for recent university graduates from different academic backgrounds interested in pursuing an exciting career in consulting and passionate about working in Africa.
The program focuses on critical skills needed for success in the future of work, such as digital essentials, structured-thinking skills, and social and emotional intelligence. It equips you with practical skills and tools to apply throughout your career.

Requirements:
To be considered for the McKinsey Company Internship Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Undergraduate or master’s degree
- Less than 3 years of work experience
- Completed or is about to begin national youth service
- Outstanding record of academic achievement
- Proven record of leadership through extracurricular activities and/or in a work setting
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Duration and Reward
- You’ll work in teams of typically 3-5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of the client engagement. Â
- This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations.
- You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to clients and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.
- You’ll gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to McKinsey. YLPs receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams.
- Following the end of the YLP, assuming good performance, you may be offered a full-time business analyst role with the office.
