First Technical University, Ibadan opens the door for outstanding students, whether newly admitted or under consideration for admission, to apply for the prestigious Josephus Foundation Scholarship for the academic year 2023/2024. This scholarship programme is inclusive, offering equal opportunities irrespective of nationality, tribal background, gender, religious affiliation, or socio-economic status.

Endowed by the University’s Chancellor, Chief (Dr.) Tunde Afolabi, MFR, the Josephus Foundation Scholarship is a competitive financial aid programme aimed at providing support to extraordinarily talented yet financially disadvantaged students. The scholarship is designed to make tertiary education accessible to those who might otherwise not afford it.

Benefits

The scholarship is a partial scholarship which only covers tuition and accommodation costs. Beneficiaries will be required to cover a one-time payment for other municipal and service charges. These charges can be viewed on the university’s website under the section detailing the Tech-U Ibadan School Fees Schedule.

This financial assistance is extended annually to new entrants through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), and direct entry routes. Importantly, it can be renewed each year, provided the beneficiary maintains satisfactory academic performance throughout the course of study.

The scholarship amounts to a substantial reduction in the total educational expenses, to the tune of #700,000.
