Selection criteria
All valid applications are reviewed by Judges in their respective challenge areas, and the top-scoring Finalists proceed to pitch their solutions.
Stage 1: Shortlisted ideas
These are ideas that make it to the last twenty (20) to pitch in-front of a panel of the advisory panel ProblemSolution and InnovativenessPotential Impact
How well the applicant demonstrates an understanding of the beneficiary pain-point.
- What is the problem and who is affected by it? Is there a clear articulation of the root causes beyond symptoms?
- What is the magnitude of the problem? Is it frequent? Is there a large number of children and adolescents affected by the problem? Is it urgent? Is it mandatory? Is it expensive to solve?
Stage 2: Top ideas/solutions
These are ideas that make it to the incubation program after a pitch event.
They should have the necessary experience and skills to realise their idea to market. We shall be assessing:
Team composition: The founding team should have nationals and residents of Uganda. They should demonstrate availability to participate in the initiative.
