Within the OeAD offers grants and scholarships to students and researchers from all over the world, carried out by the unit OeAD-MPC –Mobility Programmes, Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation. The programmes range from grants aimed at broad target groups to more specific ones aimed at applicants from particular fields of study or regions. OeAD Incoming Scholarship Programmes and further fundings
The Ernst Mach Grant – worldwide invites applications from PhD students, postgraduates, postdocs and young lecturers from universities outside of Austria. Students and academic teaching staff from all fields of study can apply for a grant period of 1 to 9 months, extensions are not possible.
Deadline: 01.02.2021 for the academic year 2021/22
Undergraduate and graduate students from non-European countries (conducting a degree on Bachelor or master level) can apply for the Ernst Mach Grant for Studying at an Austrian University of Applied Sciences, which allows research visits of 4 to 10 months at an Austrian University of Applied Sciences. Extensions are not possible.
Deadline: 01.03.2021 for the academic year 2021/22
The Ernst Mach Follow-Up Grant is aimed at post-doctoral researchers and lecturers from non-European developing countries, who work at higher education institutions/universities and have in the past received an OeAD scholarship. At the beginning of the grant period, at least 5 years must have passed since the last funded research visit to Austria.

The Franz Werfel Fellowship is open to applications from young university teachers of German language and Austrian literature. It enables them to work as visiting researchers at university departments and carry out research in libraries, archives or at research institutions. The fellowship is awarded for 4 to 9 months and includes follow-up measures (financial and material).

The Richard Plaschka Fellowship is open to applications from young university teachers of historical sciences with a focus on Austrian history. It enables them to work as visiting researchers at university departments and carry out research in libraries, archives or at research institutions. The fellowship is awarded for 4 to 9 months and includes follow-up measures (financial and material).
