The University of South Australia is seeking a motivated student to undertake an exciting Australian Research Council funded project entitled “Plasma touches life: advancing plasma technologies for the life sciences”. The student will have the opportunity to develop and test their own research initiatives in the application of electrical cold atmospheric plasma technology for wound decontamination and cancer treatments, with focus on developing novel strategies to improve the efficacy and safety of the plasma treatments.

In order to undertake this project successfully, the student will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering and physics.

Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must;

  • Must have an Honours degree or a Bachelor’s degree with Honours of at least 2a class standard or an appropriate Masters’s degree.
  • Must have proof to satisfy the Dean of Research that the applicant’s special education relevant professional experience and published research work is of sufficient quality.

Eligible Field of Studies: The sponsorship will be awarded in Plasma physics, plasma engineering, plasma diagnostics, UV-vis spectroscopy, and measurement of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in the plasma phase and liquid phase university.
