The University of Queensland â€“ Australia is seeking a full-time, highly motivated applicant to perform high-quality research in the field of shale gas extraction.
The main objectives of this PhD project are to conduct systematic microstructural, geomechanical and geochemical characterisation of shale samples using cutting edge facilities, to develop novel experimental methods to quantify the response of shale permeability to a number of key parameters such as in-situ stress and water, and to visualise fluid flow in nanopores validated by direct experimental observations.
Eligibility:Â To be eligible, applicants must;
- Have a Bachelorâ€™s degree plus at least 2 years of research experience, including research publications.
- Must have a Master of Philosophy (or another research masterâ€™s degree).
- Be proficient in English Language
