Two scholarship programmes have been generously established to support students from less developed and developing countries that are rich in biodiversity, to attend the MPhil in Conservation Leadership.

The number and size of the scholarships varies from full scholarships, to partial scholarships that cover specific aspects of the funding package required by students. Offers of scholarships will be made competitively based on: academic quality; the motivation and potential of candidates to become conservation leaders; and, the funds applicants already have available for the course.

Eligibility Criteria:

This course is designed for graduates with three to five years of relevant experience in biodiversity conservation, who have a specific knowledge of conservation, public policy, business strategy or the voluntary sector anywhere in the world. The unique features of this course are its delivery by a partnership between several university departments and conservation organizations based around Cambridge who form the Cambridge Conservation Initiative and its engagement with management and leadership.

Method of Application: 

Applying for these scholarships involves a two-stage process. First, applicants should, if they have not already done so, make a formal application to the Graduate Admissions Office for a place on the course.

Second, scholarship applicants should write a financial case explaining the funds that they have available, and any funds that they still require to ensure they can take up a place on the course. This financial case should update any information given in the original application to the Graduate Admissions Office.
