The University of Stavanger is a university located in Stavanger, Norway. UiS was established in 2005 when the former Høgskolen i Stavanger received university status.

The University of Stavanger invites applications for a doctoral fellowship in Archaeology. The research fellow is salaried according to the State Salary Code, l.pl 17.515, code 1017, LR 20, NOK 436 900 per annum.

The appointee must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team and be creative and innovative. The research fellow must have both a good command of both oral and written English.

Course Level: Fellowship is available for pursuing doctoral programme.

Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded in the field of Archaeology.

Scholarship Award: The research fellow is salaried according to the State Salary Code, l.pl 17.515, code 1017, LR 20, NOK 436 900 per annum.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must have a strong academic background with a five-year master degree within Archaeology, preferably recently, or possess corresponding qualifications which may provide a basis for successfully completing a doctorate. Both the grade for the master’s thesis and the weighted average grade of the master’s degree must be individually equivalent to or better than a B grade.

Nationality: Citizens of all nationalities are eligible to apply.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have master degree.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirement: The research fellow must have both a good command of both oral and written English.

Method of Application:

Applicants are requested to write a project description of 5-7 pages. The project description must describe purpose, topic, relevant theory, methods, empirical material and schedule for the project.
